The New Hampshire woman found dead with her young son in an apparent murder-suicide had been accused by family members of abuse claims she denied.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Mercedes Tremblay, 25, and her 2-year-old son Mason Tremblay were found dead at a Manchester home on on December 14. Authorities have said that Mercedes died of a gunshot wound to head, presumably self-inflicted, but have not yet released the toddler’s cause of death.
According to a report in IndepthNH.org, police are continuing to search for leads in the investigation, and have asked for anyone who had been in contact with Mercedes since December 6 to come forward.
A New Hampshire state trooper was in stable condition in a hospital Wednesday night after becoming involved in a confrontation with a male suspect who was killed, authorities said.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) The coronavirus pandemic, which brought everyday life to a halt and tested people’s resiliency, was New Hampshire’s top story of 2020.
The state has been dealing with rising COVID-19 cases and deaths, overworked health care workers, job and business losses, changing education and sports plans, and countless cancellations.
To get back on track, lawmakers, business leaders and state officials listened to public testimony and advised Gov. Chris Sununu on reopening the state. The 400-member House convened at the University of New Hampshire’s ice arena. Cargo planes delivered thousands of pounds of personal protective equipment to the state and to Veterans Affairs hospitals nationwide.
