JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Attorney General Leslie Rutledge donated $250,000 to fund the Veterans Village project.
According to the Attorney Generalâs deputy communications director, Stephanie Sharp, the money comes from lawsuit settlements that were in favor of the state, also known as the Consumer Education and Enforcement Fund.
Sharp says the Attorney General has full discretion over the funds.
Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver expressed gratitude toward Attorney General Rutledgeâs contribution, saying that they will be able to still complete the project âalmost three months ahead of schedule.â
