Dean of students at Boston middle school, Manuel Mendes, accused of raping former student, authorities say Updated Dec 14, 2020; A Boston Public Schools official was arraigned in court Monday on aggravated rape charges after authorities say he raped a child who previously attended his school. Manuel Mendes, 38, of Hyde Park, who is the dean of students at the James P. Timilty Middle School in Roxbury, was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with four counts of aggravated rape of a child under the age of 16, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office. Mendes was arraigned Monday in the West Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court.
