Some 3,000 Americans a day are dying of COVID-19, a significant chunk of the country won’t accept November’s election results, and Russian hackers appear to have compromised much of the federal government. Amid this mayhem, the mainstream media found time to address an issue that most Americans haven’t given a second thought: Will Jeffrey Toobin’s career survive?
In case you haven’t heard – or have mercifully forgotten – during an Oct. 15 New Yorker magazine staff meeting held on Zoom, the 60 year-old Toobin “was seen lowering and raising his computer camera, exposing and touching his penis, and motioning an air kiss to someone other than his colleagues,” according to a New York Times report. Dozens of staff members from the venerable magazine were assembled online for an election simulation exercise, which in retrospect sounds like an unfortunate euphemism.

Until Jeffrey Toobin s fateful appointment with Zoom on October 15, his quarantine was going better than most people s. In August, his eighth book, True Crimes and Misdemeanours: The Investigation of Donald Trump, about Robert Mueller s inquiry into election meddling, was published, getting positive reviews and a brief berth on the New York Times bestseller list. His third, about the Monica Lewinsky scandal, is being filmed by Ryan Murphy for a limited series on FX.
And over on HBO, he was about to appear as himself on the whodunit The Undoing, delivering commentary on the murder trial that shapes the story s arc.

CNN’s chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin was caught masturbating during a work-related conference call and now a second accusation has surfaced. CNNLOL has still not suspended or fired him.
Toobin got caught during a Zoom call back in mid-October. At the time, he was participating in a video-conference with his other employer, the
New Yorker, and a number of Toobin’s colleagues, including women, saw the 60-year-old shaking hands with Mr. Winky.
The
New Yorker fired him for the equivalent of trying to get away with buffing the vampire slayer under the table during a board meeting.
CNNLOL, however, who already has two others accused of sexual misconduct on its payroll (Ryan Lizza, who was also fired by the New Yorker, and Don Lemon), is apparently eager to make it a trifecta with Toobin.
