SLIPPERY ROCK â Slippery Rock University has announced its deanâs list for the fall 2020 semester.
The deanâs list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.
Local students on the deanâs list include Emma Reiss, from Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Slippery Rock University, founded in 1889, is a member of Pennsylvaniaâs State System of Higher Education. The university is shaped by its normal school heritage and characterized by its commitment to intellectual development, leadership and civic responsibility.

Area colleges are among the dozens of postsecondary institutions awarded new state grants to combat campus sexual assault.
Gov. Tom Wolf on Tuesday announced a new round of “It’s On Us PA” funding to 37 schools in Pennsylvania. The campaign, building on the Obama administration’s national “It’s On Us” initiative, was established five years ago to improve campus safety and raise awareness of sexual misconduct

SLIPPERY ROCK Local cadets from Slippery Rock University s Army ROTC program recently received top merit honors and branch assignments, meaning that their next step after leaving SRU has been determined.
Anthony Rosati, a senior safety management major from Aliquippa, ranked in the top 10% nationally and earned the status of Distinguished Military Graduate. He is one of three cadets from SRU to earn that honor.
Cadets are assessed into one of 17 branches of the Army based on their preferences and where they rank on the Army Cadet Command s Order of Merit List, which consists of more than 5,000 senior ROTC cadets at colleges and universities across the country.
Seldom is a subject such an obvious choice for story of the year.
