Federal agents in Texas arrest Army National Guard soldier in New York fraud case

EL PASO, TEXAS (Tribune News Service) Federal agents in  El Paso arrested an  Army National Guard soldier, who is also a  New York City Rikers Island correction officer, accused of falsifying military paperwork and signatures in a work fraud scheme. Shawn Pierre Hobbs, 34, a member of the  Connecticut Army National Guard, was arrested Monday in  El Paso on federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges out of  Manhattan. Ocean Springs businessman faces new charges related to PPE hoarding, price gouging Anita Lee, The Sun Herald Jan. 28 Ocean Springs developer Kenneth Ritchey of Ocean Springs faces a new set of charges over selling personal protective equipment to health care providers at inflated prices. Ritchey already pleaded guilty in December to a state charge of price-gouging over PPE he sold to the Veteran Affairs center in Jackson. The U.S. Attorney s Office for the Southern District of Mississippi said in a news release Wednesday that Ritchey, 57, has been indicted on federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit hoarding of designated scarce materials, and hoarding of designated scarce materials.
