WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Summer Buzbeeâs family members spoke to WBRC FOX6 News Friday before a community and Walker Countyâs Sheriffâs Office search for their daughter.
Summerâs mom and dad said they love her very much and they want their little girl to come home.
The Buzbees both thanked volunteers and community members for their support and help in the search for their daughter.
56-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed Wednesday Morning On 6th Avenue; Gary Skiles, Jr., Facing Murder Charge Thursday, January 28, 2021
A 56-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday morning on 6th Avenue, and an arrest has been made.
At approximately 5:43 a.m., Chattanooga Police were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 3600 block of 6th Avenue. While officers were en route, the call was upgraded to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds and secured the scene. Hamilton County EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to conduct an investigation. Investigators were able to identify a suspect, Gary Skiles, Jr., 35. Skiles was later located and detained through the collaborative effort of CPD Homicide, CPD Fugitive, United States Marshals, GBI, Walker County Sheriff s Office and Rossville Police Department.

WALKER COUNTY The Walker County Sheriff’s Office announced investigators suspect foul play in the disappearance of a woman.
Summer Lashay Buzbee, 23, was reported missing on Dec. 21, 2020. The sheriff’s office was initially told Buzbee was last seen on Dec. 17, but have since learned she was seen at a family member’s place of employment on Dec. 20.
Buzbee was known to walk most places and frequented residents in west Jasper.
On Friday, Jan. 22, the sheriff’s office, along with volunteers, searched the area of Williams Road and Old Russellville Road and found some of Buzbee’s belongings.
