Walkinshaw Andretti United has revealed that it will run a wildcard entry for Kurt Kostecki in three rounds of the Supercar season.
Kostecki will drive the #27 Holden Commodore at The Bend SuperSprint, the Darwin Triple Crown and the Perth SuperNight on his return to the grid having raced alongside Bryce Fullwood at Bathurst last year.
His first chance to drive the car – the same one used by Alexander Rossi and James Hinchcliffe at Bathurst in 2019 – will come in testing this week at Winton Raceway.
“I am super excited to be given this opportunity by Walkinshaw Andretti United to join the team for the three rounds this year,” he said. “It’s great to continue the relationship after our Bathurst campaign last year, they are a great bunch of people.
Jamie Whincup keeps up Triple Eight dominance, ends SVG streak with Race 7 win
1 day ago
Jamie Whincup has taken his first win of 2021 and 123rd in total with a strong display in the first of two Supercars Championship races today at Symmons Plains, ending the winning streak of Triple Eight team-mate Shane Van Gisbergen in the process.
Coming in to the race qualifying second on the grid, Whincup was able to harass pole-sitter Cam Waters throughout the race, getting a leg up on the Tickford Racing driver late in the 44 lap outing to take the race lead.
Leading home a one-two finish for Triple Eight, Whincup was able to extend his team’s dominance at the Tasmanian venue to 22 victories from the last 32 races, also making it eight wins in a row for the team which started at last year’s Bathurst 1000.
Waters scratching head over SVG qualifying deficit Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
Cameron Waters has admitted Shane van Gisbergen is “a long way down the road” ahead of Race 6 at the Beaurepaires Tasmania SuperSprint.
Waters topped the morning practice sessions, but was comprehensively beaten to ARMOR ALL Pole by van Gisbergen.
“We’re happy that we’re on the front row, no doubt,” Waters told the broadcast.

“We’ve been pretty consistent with one-lap speed, which is pretty good.

Clinical Chaz takes Saturday sweep at Mount Panorama
2 days ago
TCR Australia championship leader Chaz Mostert has taking the Melbourne Performance Centre Audi RS 3 LMS to the top step of the podium for the fourth time in five races after a strong fightback in the second Saturday race in Bathurst.
Heading in to the race after taking the lead late in the opening outing from Aaron Cameron, Mostert again had to fight the Garry Rogers Motorsport Peugeot 308 driver to take his second win of the round, further extending his championship lead despite running with 60kg of ballast.
Just as it was in race one, Cameron got the jump on the outside of the front row to lead the pack into Turn 1, checking out to hold a lead of over two seconds at the end of the first tour.
