WAKULLA, Fla. (WTXL) â The Wakulla County Sheriffâs Office says after preliminary testing there does appear to be any threat to the school or community after Wakulla High School received a threatening letter with white powder.
According to WCSO, at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, after students had been released for the day, the Wakulla County Sheriffâs Office Resource Officer was made aware of a suspicious letter sent to Wakulla High School.

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) â The Wakulla County Sheriff s Office is investigating after four puppies were abandoned in a plastic tote in the Apalachicola National Forest.
On Monday, deputies said Wakulla County Animal Control recovered four puppies that had been abandoned just off the roadway in the Apalachicola National Forest.
They said the puppies were left in a plastic tote and found near where the pavement ends on National Forest Road / FH 13. After being recovered, all four puppies are currently at the Wakulla County Animal Shelter and are doing fine.

Joseph Floyd turned Florida’s Crestview Police Department into a criminal enterprise, the judge said at his 2013 sentencing, but his willingness to break the rules didn’t start there.

Wakulla County Sherriffâs Office makes 7 sex offender arrests in âOperation Holiday Checkâ

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) â The Wakulla County Sheriff s Office has announced seven arrests in connection to âOperation Holiday Check,â a county-wide operation aimed at targeting sex offenders and predators in violation of their release conditions.
Operation Holiday Check was a part of the WCSOâs plan to address sex offender management and boiled down to unannounced checks by deputies to make sure they weren t in violation of the law.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal s Service, conducted Operation Holiday Check beginning on Nov. 20 and ending on Dec. 9.
