EVANSVILLE, Ind. Major Jason Ashworth with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff s Office announced his campaign to succeed the current sheriff in 2022.
Ashworth formally launched his campaign Tuesday morning at the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse. The announcement was also live-streamed on the campaign Facebook page, facebook.com/AshworthForSheriff.
In his remarks, Ashworth highlighted several priorities, including hiring and training quality candidates for the sheriff s office, as well as work to strengthen partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and local organizations. That s going to be the number one goal. is making sure that the community is the best place and the safest place to live, he said.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Sheriffâs Office is warning of a possible phone scam involving Amazon.
The scam starts with a fake automated call from Amazon, claiming the personâs Amazon card is being used fraudulently.
After pressing 1 on the phone dial, the call is directed to a live person who will attempt to collect this individualâs personal information.
