Photo courtesy Honor the Earth The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, along with several law enforcement partners responded to two different incidents on the Line 3 oil pipeline replacement project this week resulting in a dozen arrests. On Monday, July 19, approximately three dozen individuals came to the Enbridge right of way located along the Shell River. Of that group, approximately 20 trespassed onto the right of way, with six of the individuals chaining themselves together in the middle of the right of way, according to a Wadena County Sheriff s Office news release.

Written By: Staff reports | × The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a report of demonstrators on the Line 3 pipeline right-of-way northwest of Huntersville on Monday, May 24. Around 12:30 p.m., the reporting party stated there were approximately 30 individuals demonstrating and some of them were climbing on equipment located at the work site, according to a Wadena County Sheriff’s Office news release. When law enforcement arrived on the scene, the demonstrators were near the equipment. One equipment operator had become trapped in the equipment by the demonstrators.
