1. Fury as some of soccer s biggest clubs create North American-style Super League
There has been a furious reaction among fans and official soccer bodies after 12 of the biggest clubs in the world s most popular game announced the creation of a North American-style Super League. Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs joining the new European Super League. Critics say it is a transparent money-grab, while supporters say it puts soccer on a more sustainable footing.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp turned on former Manchester United defender Gary Neville as tensions over the proposed European Super League ran high on Monday night.
With the Reds one of the English ‘big six’ to have signed up to the hugely controversial plans to try to supersede the Champions League with a ‘closed-shop’, Klopp was questioned about the proposals before and after a 1-1 draw at Leeds which damaged their European hopes – at least in the short term.

Everything you need to know about the European Super League proposals A host of major football clubs have agreed to join a new breakaway European Super League, it has been announced. Last night it was confirmed that a host of clubs including English sides Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham intended to join a rebel competition.
Who will be taking part in the European Super League? The so-called English “Big Six” clubs have all agreed in principle to support proposals backed by clubs such as Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan of Italy. Spain’s Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have also offered support.
