The health unit released a statement saying the death – the region’s sixth – is in Nipissing District, however, no further information would be provided out of respect for the individual’s family and friends.

“We are thinking of the individual’s family and friends in these most difficult times and wish to extend our sympathies,” public health physician Dr. Carol Zimbalatti said.
“Every person lost is one person too many. We must do our best to protect each other. Follow public health measures. Get fully vaccinated. Use good judgement in all of your activities. Make this latest shutdown the last one.”
