Dense fog engulfs Delhi as minimum temperature drops to 4 1°C

ANI | Updated: Dec 15, 2020 11:23 IST New Delhi [India], December 15 (ANI): As winters continue to shiver Delhi, a dense fog engulfed the national capital with the minimum temperature dropping to 4.1 degrees Celsius, on Tuesday. According to the report published by the Regional Meteorological Centre, New Delhi, mainly clear sky and cold day conditions are likely to prevail at a few places here. The maximum temperature is expected to touch 20 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded this morning was 4.1 degree Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that fall in minimum temperatures by three to five degree Celsius is expected over most parts of northwest India during the next four days.

New Delhi: The quality of air in Delhi improved significantly on Tuesday morning as the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped to 108 (‘moderate’ category) due to strong winds that flushed out accumulated pollutants, according to Ministry of Earth Science s air quality monitor, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). The city had recorded an AQI of 326 (‘very poor’ category) on Monday morning.

Moderate to dense fog in isolated pockets over Delhi in the morning hours will be witnessed on 14th and 15th December. Dense to very dense fog in isolated pockets is very likely over north Uttar Pradesh during the next 5 days, IMD stated. Due to this thick forg, many people preferred to jog only after the sunrise for better visibility.
