Service includes connections to Middle East, Africa, and India
The Port of Seattle welcomed the first new international carrier to begin service since the start of the pandemic with the inaugural flight of Qatar Airways arriving from Doha (DOH) today at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The four times a week service aboard Boeing 777-300 aircraft will provide more options for travelers to the Middle East, Africa, and India.
“Qatar Airways’ decision to begin service to the Pacific Northwest is a testament to the airline’s confidence in the strength of the region and the expectation to bounce back after the past year’s struggles with the pandemic,” said Port of Seattle Commission Peter Steinbrueck. We look forward to this being one of the first steps back to recovery as we will soon welcome global travelers into the new International Arrivals Facility later this year.”

January 29, 2021 marked the introduction of Qatar Airways flights to Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) – allowing passengers traveling from the Pacific Northwest even more flexible travel options via the most connected and Best Airport in the Middle East, Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Seattle/Tacoma marks the airline’s eleventh U.S. gateway, surpassing the number of destinations it operated in the U.S. pre-COVID-19. The four weekly flights will be operated by Qatar Airways’ state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300 featuring 42 seats in Business Class and 312 seats in Economy Class.
Kicking off 2021 by expanding its West Coast footprint with inaugural fights to the Emerald City comes as the airline continues rapidly rebuilding – and expanding – its network across the globe. The new flights from Seattle follow last month’s successful San Francisco (SFO) to Doha launch.

Qatar Airways announced its target to become the first airline in the Middle East to begin trialing the innovative new IATA Travel Pass ‘Digital Passport’ mobile app. But it is not alone; Etihad Airways and Emirates also apply to use it.
In partnership with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the airline plans to begin trials from March 2021. IATA Travel Pass will initially be offered to Etihad’s guests on selected flights from Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2021. And Emirates said it expects to begin in April.

Doha: Qatar Airways has raised over QR3.8m for Education Above All (EAA) Foundation’s programme, Educate A Child (EAC), during 2019 and 2020.
Since 2013, the airline has worked beside EAC, affirming its responsibility as a global corporate citizen to assist the communities it serves.
