Posted: May 25, 2021 B.C.’s COVID-19 updates for May 25 Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, today (May 25) issued the following joint statement regarding updates on the COVID-19 response in British Columbia. B.C. Minister of Health Adrian Dix. Today, we are reporting 289 new cases, including four epi-linked cases, for a total of 142,636 cases in British Columbia. There are 3,782 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. A further 137,062 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 301 individuals are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 93 of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation.

May 25, 2021 - 4:08 PM B.C. health officials reported 289 new cases of COVID-19 today, 35 of which are within the Interior Health region, raising the provincewide total since the start of the pandemic to 142,636. Of these, 3,782 are active cases and 301 people are currently hospitalized with 93 of whom in intensive care. There has been one new COVID-19 related death, raising the provincial death toll to 1,680. To date, 2,927,487 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to adults 18 and over in B.C., 148,580 of which are second doses. This means 64.6% of all adults have received their first dose, or 59.8% of those 12 and older, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said in a joint statement issued today, May 25.
