Eyimofe Selected For International Film Festival Of India

By Editor 15 January 2021   |   10:44 am Following a successful showing in 2020, Nigerian feature film Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) has opened the year with a selection in the World Panorama section of the 51st edition of India’s biggest festival, The International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Opening tomorrow and runs through January 24 in Goa, IFFI organisers recently announced the list of films under its World Panorama section, which consists of 50 outstanding films from across the globe. With a total of 8 films, majority of the films in the list are from Germany, followed by France with 6 movies. The line-up also includes films from The United States of America, Italy, Greece and Netherlands, with Eyimofe representing Nigeria.

Tru Sison is a 12-year-old in the Kamloops area who plays the role of Child Jimmy in a new film called Monkey Beach. He originally auditioned for a different movie about four years ago, but it didn t work out, Lori Sison, Oliver s mother said. Then about two years ago she said the opportunity came because the casting agents kept the original video file.  We re not a film industry family, it just kind of happened, she said. The supernatural thriller is directed by Indigenous storyteller Loretta Todd. It tells the story of Lisa (played by Grace Dove) attempting to reconnect with her family in Haisla territory while learning to coexist with the ghosts that haunt her.
