Just in time for the long weekend, Vancouver is opening three outdoor pools on May 22: the saltwater Kitsilano pool and the kid-friendly New Brighton and Second Beach pools with their sloped beach-style entries.
You’ll need to plan ahead as pools are reducing their maximum capacities due to COVID-19. Advance registration is required: public swimmers can book a 90-minute block, while length swimmers can book 45-minute blocks. Come ready to swim; change rooms will be closed.

Movies and concerts are off-limits, and getting lost inside an art gallery remains forbidden. Still, since March 19, people in Vancouver have been able to visit something called Imagine Van Gogh: The Immersive Exhibition.

Because of health problems, she wanted to wait for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines instead of AstraZeneca, and had been eagerly anticipating the day the age-based vaccination program would open up for her age group.

“I’m just getting tired of the pandemic,” said the 58-year-old Vancouver woman. “And I don’t want to be behind the eight-ball. … The moment my age cohort opened, I was right on there, at 6:30 a.m., waiting for the link.”
