SHARES The City of Vancouver recently purchased the Days Inn on Kingsway to house people who have experienced homelessness or are precariously housed.
The City of Vancouver will use part of a $51.5-million federal rapid housing fund to buy a hotel just off Victoria Drive on Kingsway to convert into 65 housing units for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
"Our policy framework has created a monster, really, which is a drug market laced with illegal fentanyl and its analogues. It's a terrible example of a catastrophic failure of public policy, in my mind, which urgently needs to be modernized."
