OGRA questions Shell over LNG petition
Company has sought licence for sale and marketing of RLNG

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has raised several questions over a petition of Shell Pakistan that is seeking licence for sale and marketing of regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG).
Shell Pakistan is seeking the licence for sale and marketing of RLNG by utilising the additional capacity of Engro LNG terminal. Earlier, Ogra had conducted public hearing of Energas and Tabeer Energy applications. It also grilled the two companies that were seeking licences for sale and marketing of LNG.
The regulator held a public hearing on Thursday of the application of Shell Energy Pakistan, which sought licence for sale and marketing of natural gas/ RLNG of the additional 150mmcfd capacity of Engro LNG terminal.
ECC may allow WAPDA to float Eurobonds

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) is set to allow the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to float Eurobonds in the global market for raising $500 million to meet foreign financing needs for Mohmand and Diamer-Bhasha dam projects.
Sources told The Express Tribune that the Ministry of Water Resources had tabled a summary before the ECC, seeking approval to allow Wapda to issue Eurobonds.
Official sources said that Wapda needed a total of $2.1 billion in foreign financing. Initially, Wapda plans to issue Eurobonds to generate $500 million to meet the foreign funding component under the innovative financing strategy. This is the first time Wapda is going to float bonds without seeking any government guarantee.

NA sub-panel calls for assigning task of evaluating aspirants for govt posts to FPSC
A sub-committee of the lower house of parliament has proposed that the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) should be assigned the task of conducting initial testing of the people applying for government jobs.
However, the panel has clarified that this job should be assigned to the FPSC subject to strengthening of the commission with required human and financial resources.
