Seventy percent of those tested self-reported as being Hispanic/Latino and two-thirds were women. Of the Hispanic/Latino patients, 25.5% were positive, the study found, compared to 15.7% of “Non-Hispanic (NH) Blacks.” Just over 14% of Non-Hispanic “others” were positive, with 6.6% of “NH Whites.” “This is among the first studies to evaluate changes in rates of SARS-CoV-2 among Hispanic/Latinos over time and during phased reopening, and demonstrates persistently high positivity rates and incidence in this population,” the study authors wrote.
