For more than two decades, Kimberly Burnworth has lived in a mobile home in rural West Virginia on a tract her grandfather acquired in the 1960s. A single mother, Burnworth is paid by the government to be a caregiver to her 11-year-old son, David, who has muscular dystrophy.
Between food, medicines and a $61,000 mortgage, money is a constant worry. Increasingly, Burnworth is also worried she will be evicted. She has not made a mortgage payment in nearly two years after losing her job. The lender 21st Mortgage, a company controlled by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is trying to foreclose on her home. And the federal moratorium on evictions put in place during the pandemic is ending this month.

MidAmerican has said wind energy powered 80% of the electricity its customers needed last year.
The environmental groups are appealing the Iowa Utilities Board s approval of MidAmerican s updated emissions and budget plan in March, saying the board must consider whether the plan reasonably balances costs, environmental requirements, economic development potential, and the reliability of the electric generation and transmission system.”
The utilities board said considering alternative emissions management was beyond the scope of Iowa law. The board said Tuesday it doesn t comment on pending litigation.
MidAmerican said in a statement that the Iowa Utilities Board was clear in its ruling that MidAmerican’s emissions plan and budget were both reasonable and cost effective, and we re confident the court will uphold the board s decision.

15일(현지시간) CNBC에 따르면 스콧은 이날 블로그를 통해 수백개 비영리 단체에 추가로 27억달러(약 3조원)를 기부했다고 밝혔다.
이번 기부는 그가 미국 워싱턴주 시애틀의 과학교사인 댄 제워트와 연초 재혼한 뒤 공개된 첫 번째 기부이자 지난해 7월 이후 최근 1년 새 3번째 기부다.
