Jane Warren
Jane Warren as active underwriter for LSM. Warren reports to
Phil Hobbs, deputy managing director and chief underwriting officer for LSM. Warren is based in London and takes up the new role with immediate effect.
Warren takes over the role from Peter Smith, who recently moved to an expanded role with Liberty Mutual Re. As LSM’s active underwriter, she will be responsible for managing Lloyd’s Syndicate 4472, leveraging the future changes at Lloyds to benefit customers and clients.

Nanovaccine Study Achieves High Immune Response

Scientists at the Warsaw University of Technology are working on a nanovaccine based on recombinant SARS-CoV-2 virus proteins covalently bound to biodegradable iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs). Researchers from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering and the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies along with a team of immunologists, are aiming to produce a vaccine that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. They also intend to propose a method of fast development and production of vaccines against mutant forms of the virus or new viruses and bacteria that may be identified in the future.

KSM Vision was established in 2012. The company was founded by a group of students and doctoral students of the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics of the Warsaw University of Technology. From the beginning, the goal was to transfer the solutions developed at the university to the industry.
Now KSM Vision has obtained PLN 9 million from the investor. The funds will be allocated to the further development of technology and commercialization of products, as well as servicing new customers in Poland and abroad.
The investor is VIGO Ventures, an entity created by VIGO System – a company producing infrared detectors listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and a private investment company Warsaw Equity Group.
