Trenton Bureau Jack Ciattarelli plans to name retired state Sen. Diane B. Allen of Burlington County as his running mate in this November s gubernatorial election, his campaign confirmed. Allen will formally be announced as Ciattarelli s choice for lieutenant governor at a pair of events Wednesday, according to the campaign.  Her addition finalizes the matchup at the top of the ballot on Nov. 2: The Republican challengers Ciattarelli and Allen will seek to defeat incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver. Allen brings to the Ciattarelli campaign two decades of experience as a lawmaker with bipartisan bona fides. One of the earliest and most consequential laws Murphy signed when he took office in 2018 was the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act, in recognition of her efforts for pay equity in her prior career as a television journalist.
