Image: Google Maps A PERSISTENT shoplifter who stole food worth more than £700 from supermarkets in Northwich has been jailed for eight months. Charlotte Clayton, of Witton Street, had pleaded not guilty to two counts of theft which took place over two days. The 41-year-old stole meat worth £50 from Sainsbury s on Thursday, August 27, before returning to the store the next day to steal another £50 worth of meat. She was found guilty at Warrington Magistrates Court last Thursday, December 10, where she was sentenced to eight weeks in prison for each offence and ordered to pay £428 – £100 in compensation, £128 for victim services and £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
