Thief who stole lead from Holy Trinity Church roof jailed

Lee Moulsdale attempted to take flashing from Holy Trinity Church on Market Gate in the town centre in the early hours of August 1 last year. In doing so, he caused a total of £6,502.20 of damage to the grade two-listed building. The 40-year-old was initially spared jail at Warrington Magistrates Court in October 2020 after admitting attempted theft and criminal damage, instead being handed a three-week imprisonment suspended for a year.

Thief who bought Netflix subscription with stolen card jailed

Dale Simpson A THIEF who bought a Netflix subscription with a stolen bank card has been sent back to prison. Dale Simpson, from Latchford, was jailed for 16 weeks in October last year after a crime spree in which he broke into parked cars and stole goods from inside the vehicles, including debit cards which were also used to place bets totalling £120. On Tuesday, June 1, the 31-year-old was hauled back before Warrington Magistrates Court having failed to attend supervision sessions on three occasions following his release from custody. He was handed a 20-day curfew from 7pm to 4am after admitting failing to comply with supervision requirements, but violated the order ‘numerous times’ between June 4 and 12.
