Walton County Sheriff s Office seeks identity of suspect in sexual battery of teenager

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to identify a suspect believed to have sexually battered a teenage girl.  The Sheriff’s Office received a report March 15 of an alleged sexual battery that took place the night before, according to a release from WCSO.  A teenager reportedly stated that she had been out with friends at a home on Hinton Drive in Seagrove Beach before the group decided to go to the beach that night. According to the release, the victim left the beach early and returned to her vehicle that was parked at the residence.

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind.  A Chandler, Indiana, woman is dead following a crash at the intersection of State Road 62 and Epworth Road Tuesday morning.  Sheila Shofstall, 70, of Chandler, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Todd Ringle. He said three cars were involved in the crash at the intersection of Indiana 62 and Epworth Road around 7:30 a.m. It happened when the driver of a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer failed to notice the other involved vehicles were stopped at a red light, according to a news release from state police. The pickup driver was identified as Vernon Knepp, 44, of Washington, Indiana.
