Season s first mango parcel train commences operation from Andhra Pradesh ANI | Updated: Apr 15, 2021 18:27 IST
Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 15 (ANI): A special parcel express train, carrying 200 tonnes of mangoes in 11,600 boxes from Vizianagaram to Adarsh Nagar in Delhi, commenced its operation for this season on Wednesday.
Vizianagaram is the nodal point for transport of mangoes in the north of Andhra Pradesh.
The service has been started by the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway in its commitment to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
In a statement, senior divisional commercial manager, A K Tripathi said, Taking into consideration of the requirement by the mango traders, Waltair Division will run special parceltrain services. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Waltair Division is making all efforts to continue the supply chain of essential commodities.

Subsequent to introduction of COVID special trains and festival special trains, train timings have been revised for most of the train services due to operational reasons.
There are changes in timings at the train starting station, enroute stations and destination station for some of the train services originating/terminating from Waltair Division of East Coast Railway and also passing through the Division.
Passengers are therefore advised to check and verify the revised train timings pertaining to their train journeys well before their commencement of journeys, either with the integrated enquiry no. 139 or National Train Enquiry System (NTES) website or IRCTC website or by approaching authorised person at reservation counters/railway stations.
