National Moon sighting committee meets tomorrow

DHAKA, May 11, 2021 (BSS) – The National Moon-Sighting Committee will sit in a meeting tomorrow eveningto determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram after Magrib prayers with State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan in the chair, said a press release here today.
The committee will announce the date of Eid-ul-Fitr after reviewing information on the sighting of the moon of Shawwal month of 1442 Hijri.
People have been requested to inform the committee over the following phone and fax numbers or the deputy commissioners (DCs) or the Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) if they see the Shawwal moon anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh, the release added.

DHAKA, Mar 13, 2021 (BSS) – The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow to fix the date of holy Shab-e-Barat of Hijri 1442 after reviewing reports on the appearance of the moon of Shaban month.
The meeting will be held at Islamic Foundation conference room in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 6.00 pm.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan will preside over the meeting, an official release said here today.
People are requested to inform the committee about moon sighting over the following telephone numbers – 9559493, 9555947, 9556407 and 9558337 – or through fax numbers – 9563397 and 9555951.
Faridul distributes postal cash cards among poor in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, March 12, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan, MP, today distributed postal cash cards among the beneficiaries of the Income Support Program for the Poorest project at Baliadah High School ground in Jamalpur.
Under this project, a total of 25,832 people will get financial assistance. Of them, there are 13,737 pregnant mothers and children of extremely poor families in Islampur Upazila and 12,095 beneficiaries and their children in Chinaduli Union.
The project is being implemented in 444 unions of 43 upazilas of seven districts of Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions since 2016.
The scheme provides cash assistance to mothers of extremely poor families and children under the age of five on the condition of receiving health care for their physical and mental development.
