Pipeline Work Closing Portions of 192nd, 230th Streets

Road closures are expected northeast of the city of Washington this week for pipeline work. The Washington County Engineer’s Office announces that subject to weather conditions, on Tuesday Enterprise Products Mid-America Pipeline is planning to perform maintenance and repair work on the pipeline that crosses 192nd Street about a half mile north of 200th Street and on 230th Street just west of Redwood Avenue. This work is part of a larger pipeline inspection and maintenance project that will require closure of portions of 192nd and 230th streets to allow the work to proceed safely. The closure is expected to last about five days for each project, which are expected to occur nearly simultaneously. Enterprise Products Mid-America Pipeline has been working with the Washington County Engineer’s Office to coordinate this closure and minimize the impact to motorists. Washington County Receives State Grant for Wayland Road Improvements

The Washington County Engineer’s Office has received a grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation to make improvements on Wayland Road. The Engineer’s Office recently announced that they have received $245,000 to assist in making safety improvements to a two mile section of County Road W55 by adding paved shoulders with a safety edge and edge line rumble strips. The funds awarded are a part of the state’s Traffic Safety Improvement Program which seeks to systematically improve safety on all roads across the state. For fiscal year 2022, 46 applications were submitted, and Washington County was one of the 25 applications that received funding. The project is expected to be completed sometime within the next two years.
