Four months after he fatally shot a man in a pickup truck
after responding to a disturbance, former Tigard police Officer Gabriel Maldonado started a new job with Port of Portland police.
Maldonado resigned from the Tigard department April 15 and started at the port
on April 19, Tigard police spokesperson Kelsey Anderson confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive. He had been placed on paid administrative leave, a standard policy after officer-involved shootings, on Jan. 6, the day he shot Jacob MacDuff.

As they demand answers in the death of their son, the family of the Tigard man shot and killed by police Jan. 6 has filed a tort claim against the city.
Jacob Macduff, 26, was killed by a Tigard police officer during what was reported as a domestic disturbance call that occurred at an apartment complex near Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road.
Police allege that Macduff had a knife and that a struggle occurred before the Tigard man was shot. His family and a roommate have said Macduff was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time.

Aloha man killed in Saturday night crash April 18 2021
The victim drove his car 20 feet off the road and crashed into a tree near Hillsboro.
An Aloha man died after crashing his car into a tree south of Hillsboro late Saturday.
The victim is identified as Josue Sanabria, 21.
According to the Washington County Sheriff s Office, the investigation began at 11:40 p.m. April 17 when deputies responded to a car crash in the 6600 block of Southwest River Road.
When deputies arrived with emergency medical crews, they found a man driving a 1990 Nissan 240SX had gone off the road about 20 feet and crashed into a tree.
