Thousands more COVID-19 shots are being administered at state-run mass vaccination sites as more retail pharmacies are coming online to offer the shots.
As more shots are being made available in more places, money is on the way from the federal government to help providers push the shots out. President Joe Biden signed the stimulus bill into law Thursday afternoon, and U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Maryland, said it includes millions of dollars for local jurisdictions to distribute and administer coronavirus vaccines. This bill contains substantial resources to get more vaccine out more quickly, and also, there s going to be more focus on trying to get it directly into community health centers and neighborhoods that have been especially hard hit, Van Hollen said.
