Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy says the blame falls on the system in place. I think that in the months ahead, it has to be looked at how to do this and it has to be simplified, so that you get less people involved and ultimately faster decision-making, by putting one person in charge.
The Idaho National Guard is sending approximately 300 soldiers and airmen to Washington, D.C., to assist district and federal agencies with the presidential inauguration set for next Wednesday, Jan. 20.

The buses rolled Friday morning from Florida to Washington D.C. But this time, instead of protestors, it is soldiers and airmen from the Florida National Guard on their way to provide security. We spoke to one of the company commanders on the way.
Six hundred men and women of the National Guard packed up over the last couple of days and are heading off to make some history.
“We have been mobilized to move up to the Capitol to Washington D.C. in preparation of the inauguration,” Captain Alexander Emrich, Florida National Guard.

request came from the National Guard Bureau to Governor Gianforte.
Soldiers from the 484th Military Police Company (located in Billings, Malta
and Glasgow), the 143rd Military Police Detachment (Law& Order) (located in
Lewistown) and Headquarters, Headquarters Company of the 1-163rd Combined
Arms Battalion (located in Belgrade) are being combined and tasked with
supporting the Washington D.C. National Guard and the federal law
enforcement agencies...
