Dallas actor is accused of assaulting Capitol Police with crutch during insurrection
Luke Coffee, 41, was seen on video and in photos aggressively shoving a crutch at police officers defending the Capitol from rioters, the FBI says.
A Dallas actor who allegedly used a crutch to assault police officers during the January insurrection and siege of the U.S. Capitol has been arrested and charged in federal court, authorities said Friday.
Luke Russell Coffee, 41, was captured on video and in photographs charging at officers with a single crutch during the Jan. 6 riot, according to an FBI affidavit.
A Baylor graduate, Coffee said in an online biography that he moved to Hollywood after college to pursue a film career. He said he worked on two prime-time television shows for Warner Brothers and NBC/Universal. Coffee said he returned to Dallas, his hometown, in 2010 to start a production company.
