Two county men face multiple charges

A Jackson County officer patrolling a rural area early Christmas Eve morning wound up arresting two men on various charges, police report.
Jeremy Scott Dillman, 37, of Medora faces a Level 4 felony charge of dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine, Level 6 felony charges of possession of a legend drug and possession of a controlled substance and a Class A misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 years.
Matthew Darren Thompson, 39, of Brownstown was arrested on a Level 3 felony charge of dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine and Class A misdemeanor charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of a handgun without a license and resisting law enforcement.

Tony Wichman is the kind of guy who has been pretty busy most of his life. For the last 47 years he has been in the banking business. At the same time he spent the last 26 years as chief of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. There was even a 14 year span when he was a Daviess County Commissioner. The idea of Wichman stepping back from anything almost seems foreign. But he says that at the end of this year he is leaving banking.

Christmas came a little early for the members of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. Members of the department recently traveled to Alabama to purchase a 2010 pumper truck. The truck, which was originally used by a department a Texas, replaces an aging Engine 9 and Rescue 9.
