The State Redistricting Commission had a public outreach meeting for the Sixth Congressional District on Monday, May 24, where 25 residents testified. Sixteen residents requested the Redistricting Commission to keep Bremerton intact in one legislative district. They indicated that the State Constitution specified that the commission should make sure that, insofar as practical, geographical, and political boundaries, and communities that have common interests are respected, and their division minimized. They said that the voters of Bremerton are not being adequately represented because of the current division of the city into three legislative districts.

May 22 The Washington State Redistricting Commission will hold a public outreach meeting at 7 p.m. Monday to receive comments on redistricting for the state s 6th Congressional District, which includes a large portion of Tacoma.
The meeting is one of the first of its kind, as no previous commission meetings have been advertised to the public or held for the sole purpose of gathering public opinion. It will take place as some census data used in the redistricting process remains unavailable due to delays brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
