ON THE CAMPAIGN trail President Joe Biden was referred to by his rival as “Sleepy Joe”, a not-so-subtle suggestion that the 78-year-old lacked the energy to be commander-in-chief. Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have found that patients with Barrett s esophagus may be vulnerable to coronavirus infection from what they swallow. Shown is an organoid built from tissue taken from patients with Barrett s esophagus. The cells resemble intestinal cells rather than normal esophagus cells. The red color notes the presence of a protein called actin that is found in intestinal cells, while the green marks the presence of the TMPRSS2 protein that binds to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

COLLINSVILLE – Louer Facility Planning, Inc. announces a leadership transition plan, along with celebrating 25 years in business.
Founding President and CEO, Jane Louer, has put the wheels in motion for a gradual buyout and leadership transition to two of the company’s key employees, Yvette Paris and April Grapperhaus.
The initial phase of the employee purchase has been completed and the company is pleased to welcome the new owner/partners. Louer remains majority stockholder but her ownership will be reduced each year over the next three years, when Paris will become majority stockholder.
