NORTHAMPTON Webber and Grinnell Insurance recently hired Reynolds Whalen as its director of Culture and Communication. This new position focuses on company culture, sponsorships, community engagement, and helping advance the agency further into the digital age of marketing and communication.
Reynolds comes to the job from his role as founder and executive director of Performing Arts Abroad, based in Easthampton, where he built the business with a focus on creativity, core values, and efficiency through integrations. He serves on the board of the International Language Institute in Northampton and is active in the Pioneer Valley theater scene as an actor and creative collaborator.

What provoked your research into the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic?
We are neuroscientists, so it was a bit of a shift in direction! For several years TJ and I had been testing out how to use nanobodies to make brain imaging better. When the pandemic broke, we thought this is a once in a lifetime, all-hands-deck situation and joined the fight.

The panelists did not offer an ideal number of Supreme Court justices. Mr. Holder, who described himself as former President Barack Obama’s “wingman” during his tenure as attorney general, said it would be “totally appropriate” to add new seats to the Supreme Court, given that the number of federal circuits has expanded from nine to 13 since 1869.
“The Republicans have abused their power to give themselves an unfair advantage,” Mr. Holder said. “It is necessary and totally appropriate to add seats.”
Court packing on some levels of government does have political support, given courts have been expanded in Arizona and Georgia and other state legislatures are considering doing the same, said Duke University Law School professor Marin Levy.
