AWWA Board of Directors selects Joseph Jacangelo of Lovettsville, Virginia, as next president-elect
The American Water Works Association’s Board of Directors selected Joseph Jacangelo of Lovettsville, Virginia, as the Association’s next president-elect.
Four vice presidents and a director-at-large were also selected during the Board’s annual winter meeting.
Jacangelo will begin his term as president-elect in June at the conclusion of AWWA’s Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE21), and his term as president begins in June 2022, according to the press release. He follows current president-elect Chi Ho Sham.
Jacangelo has been a member of AWWA for over 35 years and is an active member of the Virginia Section. He recently served as the chair of the International Council and is vice president and director of research for Stantec in Washington, D.C.

The Maryland Department of Transportation s State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) continues work on the
MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) Relocation Construction Project in the town of Brookeville, which is in Montgomery County.
The project includes a new 0.7-mi., two-lane highway with bicycle-compatible shoulders between north of Goldmine Road and south of Holiday Drive.
The contract was awarded to
Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester, Pa. The project is valued at $43.4 million, with $1.1 million coming from federal aid.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission has over 5,700 residential and commercial customers behind in their bills, more than twice the
