It’s been a rough year for Washington’s breweries and this program will showcase a spirit of creativity and promote a sense of unity, community, and collaboration. Brewed by individual breweries across the state, the beer is scheduled for release on June 19th (Father’s Day weekend). Brewers need to register by April 28th.

Effective March 22, the entire state will move to Phase 3 of the Healthy Washington plan. To help you prepare, the Governor’s office has now released updated “Eating & Drinking Establishments” guidance, which applies to breweries and other licensees.
The major changes found in the guidance are:
Indoor dining capacity allowed at 50%
Table size increased to 10 with no household restrictions
Alcohol service and deliveries allowed until 12am

As we’ve discussed before, and by now most breweries know, part of the requirements for Phase 2 openings involve food. This has created some headaches for brewery taprooms that historically not offered food, but the latest guidance from the state includes significant changes to the food requirements that offer some help. Here is the message from the Washington Brewers Guild.
Important: Phase 2 Food Rule Changes for Indoor Service at Breweries
(February 5, 2021) – Food must still be made available on-site for indoor service in Phase 2, however, there have been significant changes to the guidance and three meal offerings are no longer required. Snack options (outlined below) and allowing customers to bring in outside food will now meet the food criteria for indoor service in Phase 2.
VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) Washington’s COVID-19 rules now allow for some indoor seating in open-air settings, and breweries in Vancouver are taking full advantage of the change.
“People are maybe able to watch the football game and kinda get some shelter from the outdoors,” Jason Bos, one of the owners at Brothers Cascadia Brewing, said.
In addition to their outdoor setup, now with their bay door open, they can seat about 20 more people inside.
“We’re also very appreciative of the state looking at the science, making sure our customers were gonna be safe but also giving us the opportunity to have more customers safely enjoy beer and food,” Jason said.

Jan. 17 In a small victory for the hospitality industry, if restaurants can replicate outdoor airflow through open windows and doors, they can welcome guests back inside at limited capacity, according to new rules issued by the Washington state governor s office recently.
