Historically, emergency crews have taken all patients with life-threatening injuries out of the county. “This is the first hospital in Prince William County to be awarded a trauma center designation, and while all critical life-threatening traumas will still go to a Level I Trauma Center at either Inova Fairfax Hospital or the Washington Hospital Center, many other traumas can now be transported to Sentara Hospital and remain in Prince William County,” said Prince William County EMS Operations Battalion Chief Chip Morrison. The hospital will be reviewed every three years by state health officials to maintain its trauma center designation. The 183-bed facility is located at 2300 Opitz Boulevard.
