SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack recently received some much needed upgrades to its communication center.
Lt. Christopher Davala says the center hadn’t been changed since 1992 so the technology was worn out and outdated. The upgrades now allow them to work as a team with Wicomico County’s Emergency Services, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police. They can also now accept text to 911 calls as well as track those calls more accurately.
Lt. Davala says the upgrades help them learn more about the situation as they’re on their way to a scene answering questions like: Have they been to that location for a call before? Or, is there also a medical emergency there?
