Program) as part of the NSW Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-2030, which aims to achieve a 35% reduction in emissions compared to 2005 levels. AU$750 million will be invested under the Program by 2030 to help realise that aim.
The Program has three areas of focus:
Clean Technology Innovation - supporting the development of emerging clean technologies, including hydrogen. AU$195 million has been earmarked for this area.
New Low Carbon Industry Foundations - creating the foundations for low emissions industries by building infrastructure and expanding the capability of supply chains. AU$175 million in funding has been allocated for this objective.

La Trobe University will become a one-stop-shop for the development of innovative products like anti-viral medication, water treatment solutions and portable farm technology thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government.
The $23 million Digital and Bio Innovation Hubs will be housed in the refurbished Thomas Chery Building at the Bundoora campus, and will accommodate research and development by students, start-ups and Victorian businesses.
They will be a place for learning, integrated research and industry collaboration and will provide an invaluable opportunity for businesses to grow and transform as Victoria emerges from the coronavirus pandemic.
The facility will accommodate up to 10 companies and 40 research and business staff at any one time. They will have access to purpose-built wetlabs, temperature-controlled storage facilities, laboratories, high-end digital equipment, and offices.

New Chair of state’s International Education Advisory Council announced
Minister for Trade, Martin Pakula announced on Wednesday 17 February the appointment of former Victorian Premier John Brumby as the new Chair of the state’s International Education Advisory Council. Mr Brumby (pictured) brings extensive education sector experience to the role as Chancellor of La Trobe University and Chair of the Advisory Board for the University of Melbourne School of Government. He will lead the Council in providing independent advice on issues relating to Victoria’s renowned international education sector.
Minister Pakula thanked the outgoing Chair, Jane den Hollander AO, for her service to the Victorian international education sector and the community.
