Australian man who recorded and mocked dying police officers handed a 10-month prison sentence Brandon Sapienza
An Australian judge has sentenced 42-year-old Richard Pusey to 10 months in jail after he drove dangerously and then recorded and taunted the responding officers who were hit by a truck on the side of a freeway.
In the sentencing, which took place in Victoria County Court on Wednesday, Judge Wraight said that Pusey’s actions were “heartless, cruel, and disgraceful,” according to CNN.
Last April, Pusey was speeding on a freeway near Melbourne in his Porsche 911 while under the influence of marijuana and MDMA. According to court records, police officers Lynette Taylor and Glen Humphris pulled him over along with officers Kevin King and Josh Prestney who arrived a few minutes later.

A truck driver has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for hitting and killing four police officers on a major Australian road.
Mohinder Singh was under the influence of drugs and sleep-deprived when his truck veered into an emergency stopping lane of Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway, where three policemen and a policewoman were standing after stopping a speeding car on April 22 last year.
Officers Lynette Taylor, Kevin King, Glen Humphris and Joshua Prestney all died at the scene.
Singh, 48, pleaded guilty in the Victoria state Supreme Court last year to four counts of culpable driving causing death, three charges of drug trafficking and one of possessing illicit drugs.
