The Frankston area has been named as one of 22 finalists at the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards.
The awards are hosted by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council. The awards website describes Frankston as “a city with a heart of diversity. All walks of life flow through the streets adding to its eclectic, creative vibrancy. It’s an evolving city with a new energy, and a tease of discovery to what is new.”

Acting Premier James Merlino believes Victoria has been short-changed and will demand the federal government fund cheap flights into Melbourne and the stateâs east as Prime Minister Scott Morrison said more destinations could be added to his $1.2 billion tourism plan.
Mr Merlino revealed his government will lobby federal Tourism Minister Dan Tehan to expand the flight discounts to Melbourne Airport so that the city and other parts of Victoria, such as Gippsland, Albury-Wodonga and the high country would benefit from the program.
