Paramount Plus Will Have A New Star Trek Series Dropping Every Quarter
Star Trek on TV. We’ve already had three seasons of
Discovery, a couple of
Picard and
Lower Decks over the past few years, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With the launching of Paramount Plus – a revitalized CBS All Access – in March, ViacomCBS is ramping up the franchise even more.
In fact, the studio’s aim is to have a new season of
Star Trek dropping every quarter of the year. Paramount unveiled reams of upcoming programming for its streaming platform at the TCA’s winter press tour this Wednesday, including announcing that children’s animated series
Dora and the Lost City of Gold and
Sonic the Hedgehog to
Rocketman, all coming to Paramount+. These films will join the previously announced
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: Sponge on the Run, which will be available on Paramount+ at launch.
Additionally, Paramount Pictures announced an agreement with EPIX to make thousands of movie titles from a wide variety of studios available to Paramount+ subscribers. Beginning late spring, the service will stream some of the most popular films and franchises of all time, including films from the
James Bond and
The Addams Family and
The Avengers, among many others in a deal that will grow the service’s film library to over 2,500 titles.
