Health authorities urge public to get vaccinated, ask nursing graduates to apply

SunStar Health authorities urge public to get vaccinated (File photo) + August 04, 2021 HEALTH authorities called on the public to get vaccinated after the majority of recorded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) deaths are those unvaccinated. Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) medical chief Dr. Gerardo Aquino revealed that the majority of the Covid-19 deaths in their hospital were unvaccinated. According to Aquino, all the recorded five mortalities as of July 28, 2021 are unvaccinated. He said that based on their hospital data, there were 113 confirmed Covid-19 patients admitted to their hospital. Of this number, 94 are unvaccinated.

DOH-Central Visayas calls for more nurses, doctors

August 03, 2021 THE Department of Health (DOH) 7 has deployed close to a hundred nurses in private hospitals and isolation centers in Cebu to augment the work force as health authorities continued to grapple with the rise in coronavirus (Covid-19) cases here. This as Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 issued an executive order regulating the sale of medical oxygen within the province of Cebu. In her Executive Order (EO) 36, Series of 2021, the governor said there is a need to regulate the sale of medical oxygen because the rise of Covid-19 cases in Cebu has prompted people to go to suppliers to buy their own oxygen supply.
