A marriage is the joining together of two people in love into one life journey together. It also could mean, if it’s the path you’ve decided on, the joining together of part of your identity – your last names.
Kelly here, as someone who has changed their last name (I’ve never been married, or divorced, like the woman at the bank asked me when I changed it, rather, I just decided I liked my mom’s maiden name a little better than my dad’s last name) it can be a total nightmare and headache gathering all the necessary documents and information and knowing which pieces of the puzzle you need to have in order to complete the other pieces.
“Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman.” Can you still say that in Jack And The Beanstalk, or is there a politically correct alternative featuring another ethnic majority? I’ll find that out next Sunday when I tune in to the virtual pantomime being streamed by Hamilton Academical, the proceeds of which are going to three local charities. The man behind it – “Oh no he isn’t!” – is the club’s CEO Colin McGowan. Accies may be languishing on the field but it would be difficult to find one trying to get closer to its community, although I have to say this is hardly reciprocated. The average crowd is less than 3,000 – and that includes the two or three usual visits from both Celtic and Rangers, the teams that most locals seem to prefer to support rather than their own.

Early in the pandemic days, we shared a resource guide for everything you could need to continue to plan your Big Day while social distancing at home. Though there is a vaccine on the horizon, we’re not sure social distancing is going anywhere anytime soon and we wanted to share our resource links again, so you don’t skip a beat.
Many couples have been affected by the state and national orders to stay at home while the country is trying to get a handle on the coronavirus pandemic. Parties and weddings have been cancelled and postponed. But, even if you are newly engaged or nearing the end of your planning process, there are still many ways couples can continue planning.

Since its inception, “Let Them Eat Cake” has reported on the Pantone Color Institute Color of the Year. Designers, decorators, lifestyle brands and more look to Pantone to help navigate drifts in the color world for fashion, interior design trends and even the wedding industry. In other words, Pantone is the Queen when it comes to color.
The color of the year for 2020 was Pantone’s “Classic Blue.” This hue was supposed to represent elegance, simplicity, calm and confidence. We don’t know about you, but we’re not sure “Classic Blue” really represented this dumpster of a year it has been. Maybe they should’ve gone with a fire red or black. [Insert eyes emoji]
