Holiday hopefuls have been warned to remain vigilant against travel related fraud as holiday bookings surge.
THE PUBLIC are being warned against holiday and travel fraud as bookings surge following the government’s announcement on how lockdown restrictions will be eased. Action Fraud, the national reporting centre for fraud and cyber crime along ABTA, The Travel Association, are reminding would-be holiday makers to think twice before handing over their money and personal information when booking holidays this year, with criminals having targeted unsuspecting holidaymakers booking airline tickets, holiday accommodation and religious pilgrimages in previous years. Head of Action Fraud Pauline Smith said: “We are all more eager than ever to go on a holiday and relax with family and friends after the year we’ve all had.
