5 February 2021 InterContinental Hotels Group has rebranded as IHG Hotels & Resorts as it prepares for the return of international travel this year. The brand refresh reflects the company’s growth to 16 brands, with guests now able to walk through the doors of nearly 6,000 hotels across 100 countries. With an updated identity, the company said it was focused on strengthening perception, how it engages guests, hotel owners and colleagues and better promoting the breadth of its portfolio. Holiday Inn Club Vacations opens New Orleans resort

  Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated has opened its New Orleans Resort, the company’s first urban property in its growing network of U.S. travel destinations. The property opened in mid-January at 203 Carondelet St. in a building that was constructed in 1893 as New Orleans’ first skyscraper. It was acquired by Holiday Inn Club Vacations in 2019 as a luxury apartment building and converted into a 105-villa resort. The project created 45 jobs, most of them full-time, a news release said. The resort offers full-size villas with one- and two-bedroom layouts that include kitchens and living rooms. The first floor of the resort contains a Marketplace and the Maritime Bar & Lounge, a full-service bar that is expected to open later this year. On the building’s top floor there is a fitness center, outdoor dipping pool and rooftop terrace.
